No Struggle, No Progress

Irma DeTiege Scholarship

What a journey from a zero to somebody! The legendary late Irma DeTiege was just an ordinary person from Riverton LA. She was raised by a single mother with a sister and brother who worked from dawn to can't see at night. On the farm you could not be shiftless or lazy. It was a difficult era where only the strong survived. Irma DeTiege had no crystal stair. Her work ethic was git it done by any means, no matter the severity or weather. If you didn't work, you didn't eat. Through all the hard times, she never gave up on her dream of being someone special in her on way. She quietly made her mark taking one step at a time. She was a quiet giant who helped everyone she could to become successful. We remember her during this time of the year by awarding graduating high school seniors with a scholarship in her name. Thanks to all who have donated to the Irma DeTiege Scholarship Fund. Your generous donations have made the difference in the lives of many scholarship recipients. Thank you so much for your generosity Mrs. F.S. Reed and Clarence and Linda Sharp.
