No Struggle, No Progress
Chief Master Sergeant Henry Q.V. Huey, son of Ardonia and Henry T. Esaw, Sr. departed his life on Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Hampton, Virginia. He was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on October 5, 1946. He attended Union Central High School in the Brownville Community of Caldwell Parish and graduated in May 1964. He entered the United States Air Force on March 29, 1965 and retired March 31, 1995. Initially, he was trained as an Aerospace Control and Warning System Operator at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi where he was an honor graduate. After being assigned to the 5th Tactical Control Group at Clark Air Base in the Philippians, he was transferred to Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Republic of South Vietnam in December 1965 where he quickly mastered all the duties of an Air Surveillance Technician. Because of his intellectual ability, he quickly advanced in his duties. After receiving many honors and promotions in various positions relating to radar operations in December 1985, he was assigned as an inspector with the Tactical Air Command Inspector General Team. When that tour was over, he became a Chief Command and Control Training Officer. In October 1986 he was promoted to Chief Master Sergeant. In addition to his military career, a few years ago he rededicated his life to Christ and became an ordained deacon for 22 years at the World Victory Church and Life Center in New Port News, Virginia. Even though Henry walked through the valley of the shadow of death many times in his military life, he knew God was with him. Now, all his earthly battles are finally over. May he rest in peace! He is survived by his wife, Ann Fernandes (Hampton, VA), daughter Karen White (Atlanta, GA) three granddaughters, Ariana Jones, Madison and Morgan White (Northern VA), four sisters, Faye Huey, Augustine (Will) Cann, Laura Swan (Monroe, LA) Belinda Gaines (Houston, TX) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by a beloved son, Kevin Q.V. Huey, parents; H.T. and Ardonia Esaw, Brothers: James (Sylverlene) and Henry T. Esaw, Jr (Brenda) and Sister: Theresa Burns.
