No Struggle, No Progress

WE GET ANOTHER CHANCE

As we witness God's wrath the last two Sundays back to back, tell me, did any of the challenges we had with others really matter? No! We were too busy praying and hoping our lives and possessions were spared. When faced with disaster, we say, God is trying to tell us something, but do we really get the message. If we do we have a responsibility to demonstrate our new clarity of vision and hearing through actions found in love, more specifically through thanksgiving, forgiveness, and sometimes apology. First, we must command our ego to stand down. We must understand that EGO is an acronym for Easing God Out. When that happens, we either become our own God or give reign to the evil one to move in and cause us to act with reckless disregard to consequences. God said my people shall perish for lack of knowledge. Lack of knowledge is dangerous on so many fronts. At its core, it can cultivates lies, misunderstanding, deceit, and creates immeasurable disharmony and destruction, especially if the foundation of our information is incorrect.

As humans, we talk about anything, everything, and everybody. We talk from a place based on our own limited understanding and interpretation or misinterpretations. Nonetheless, it becomes our truth. That false positive truth then becomes couched in our principles that then justify to us our often misguided fight for whatever! We embrace and spread rumors as though they are gospel even though the assertions are unfounded and often not true because we cannot explicitly identify evidence that proves these beliefs to be true. Instead, we support preconceived conclusions derived without proper investigation and embrace faulty accusations and sound bites in an effort to deflect from the truth and hurt the process. Hence, I invite us all to search our souls, confront our hypocrisies, and endeavor to abide by God's admonition in Colossians 3:10, "And have put on the New Man which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him." May God continue to bless us all.
