No Struggle, No Progress

Swanson Escapees Captured

We often find ourselves in situations and places where others don’t want us to be mostly from the decisions/choices that we make. Most of the time, we make decisions/choices based on what we know and from what we hear from others. Sometimes what we hear is not always good, but we make the decision to act. It is those decisions that we make that we have to live by. When good decisions/choices are made, good things tend to happen for/to us. But when they are bad they can set us on a path that is no good for us.

Two teens housed at the Swanson Youth Center in Monroe were captured Tuesday afternoon, April 7 after they escaped from the center Monday night, April 6. According to initial reports, officials at Swanson said the teens left the grounds of the center around 8:00 PM, by going over a fence. After an overnight search, the teens were apprehended. They were allegedly found in the area around Parkview Apartments in Monroe, LA. One teen, 17, from Jennings, LA, is being held at Swanson on charges of burglary, weapons charges, and automobile theft. The other, 16, from Lake Charles, LA is being held for attempted manslaughter. Due to the confidential nature of juvenile records and the ongoing investigation, OJJ will not release any further information at this time.
