Goldie "Sonnyman" Sellers 78, was a Richwood, Grambling and NFL great who was like one of us. God blesses us all with a special talents. If you never discover your hidden talent, you lose it. "Sonnyman" went to Glory on Saturday March 28, 2020. He was a ferocious football and basketball player at Richwood High School in Monroe LA, who played for Legendary Richwood Football Coach Mackie Freeze according to Thomas "Tommy Duhe" Jenkins. There were so many Richwood High School Superstars including Goldie "Sonnyman" Sellers Thomas Jenkins, Richard "Dick" Wilson, the late Carl "Deno" Dean, Dale & Don Zimmerman, Chuck White, Perry Thomas, the late Freddy "Bear" McHenry, Raymond "Sandy" Brown, Prince Borden, & Thomas Bailey played with "Sonnyman" in the NFL and Richwood, Jimmy & Charles Owens, Alonzo Holmes, Gerald Garth, Leonard "Puddin" Wilson, Welton Holman, Dave Sellers, Bobby Hill, Warren Brown, Charles Beckwith, Donnell Williams, the late Robert "Goonie" Stewart, Calvin Moorehead, Joe Walker, Willie "Legs" Johnson, Al Derry, Larry Wright, Earl and Ronald Hollis, the late Jerry Ford, Donnie Gay Wallace, Sammie White, Donnell & Freddie Cain, Puddin Wilson, Joe & David Profit, the late Simon Profit, Myron Washington, Matthew & Murphy Reed, Lawrence Saucer, Charlie Smith, the late Simon Profit, Harry Cooper and Elroy Smith. "Sonnyman" played in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. He was a Super Bowl lV Champion with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1966-1967. He married the love of his life Vasa "Peaches" Sellers who he met at Grambling College from Rayville LA. Left to cherish memories is his wife "Peaches" and daughter Goldie Genean. Rest in peace Goldie "Sonnyman" Sellers.
