No Struggle, No Progress

EVERY HOUSE NEEDS A STEEPLE

Many of our conversations over the years, have been complaints about there being too many churches. Why don't they merge, we say? Why this, why that, we say. The premises for this cry are understandable, but so too are the reasons and premises for why we have so many. All attributed to and found inside the unique brutal journey of African Americans in America. Some of us are so serious about it that we participate in these debates with vigilance like the legendary debaters of Wiley College, who back in the thirties and beyond won all kinds of championships including wining for ten years straight and hailed as one of if not the first to debate a Caucasian university, Harvard! Wiley College won! For many years since, I have declared what I declare today. "Every house should have a steeple even if they are only imaginary." "For God said in II Chronicles 7: 14, ”If my people, which are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wick ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." It's praying time people! After all, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
