No Struggle, No Progress

All About the Benjamins

President Donald Trump is trying his best to get America back to work despite the fact that America is a sick nation with more people getting sicker by the hour. Don’t believe me? Just ask your mayor or governor and see what they tell you. That’s because our mayors and governors are on the front line battling the devastating disease COVID-19, while our president seems to be thinking more about the economy instead of saving lives. It was just recently, President Trump said that he would like to see Americans “all come together” on Easter Sunday in churches across the nation, as a sign that things have gotten back to normal. By “normal”, the president believes that would be a good time to get the economy moving again having people going back to work. The medical community is not in agreement with the president, especially those that are connected with hospitals where the sick and dead mount each day. But somehow, those on the right politically who fully support the president’s efforts combating the virus, are pushing his narrative that social distancing come to an end and people over 50 go back to work. Why would they want that? There are those who are saying that the economy of the nation is more important than the health of the nation. Listen to what they are saying on Fox News. That’s economic wealth over physical health. Do we really have to ask ourselves which is more important? Are we willing to put a price tag on people’s lives? Do we as a nation want people to sacrifice themselves just to keep a nation from going broke, as we are being told? Who would be left to benefit if people sacrifice themselves “to save” the nation. The “who” are the ones who control the flow of money--bankers and some billionaires.

We have heard how just a small percentage of the population controls well over 90% of this nation’s wealth. It starts with the banking system where mind baffling amounts of currency is exchanged every day known only to those who control the system. If an economy like that of the U.S. had shut down when President Obama took office, banks would have been right in line. We were told that the banks “were too big to fail” because of the economy that they controlled, but the predicament that were too big to fail was because of their own failings, not from a virus. President Obama found a way to save people’s jobs while at the same time restoring the economy. No one talked about people sacrificing themselves to save the economy because they couldn’t work. No one knew how long the recession was going to last, as no one knows how long this virus will last. But to have a conversation about people going back to work when they shouldn’t and infect others is not the solution, no matter what they say on Fox News. The nation to a large degree, has accepted social distancing, though there are some churches that continue to have gatherings that violate state directives. That seems to be putting religion against science on how best to treat a pandemic. But it won’t matter to the bankers and billionaires. They can shelter/isolate themselves anywhere in the world where the virus is not present, the rest of us can’t. Perhaps this would be a good time for President Trump and VP Pence to come to Louisiana and attend one of those church services. They can still do it for Easter.

The bankers and billionaires want Trump to win because if Congress and the White House is controlled by Democrats after the 2020 presidential election, there will be new regulations in place. It happened after President Obama saved the banking system, only to see President Trump turn back those regulations. They want to see a dramatic uptick in the economy because it will increase the president’s chances of re-election. President Trump has surrounded himself around bankers and billionaires his entire life, though his rallies are attended by everyday people who now are among the sick and dying. Perhaps they should look at which political party tried to give them as much of what they need to sustain them until conditions improve, versus the party that tried to give them as less as possible, even saying that what they will receive from the federal government, was too much. Look at which party those bankers and billionaires that want four more years of Donald Trump have supported time and time again. It’s all about the Benjamins. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
