No Struggle, No Progress

Stay-at-Home Orders …a Blessing!

We are living in very interesting times. COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) has disrupted the entire globe, forcing us to take many precautions as we continue to live our lives. New restrictions around how we live and interact with one another can be summed up with the phrase called social distancing. Social distancing means measures taken to prevent the spread of a contagious disease by maintaining physical distance and reducing the number of times people come in close contact with one another. Social distancing calls for people to spend weeks away from others in self-isolation or self-quarantine.

It has been a little less than two weeks now since Louisiana’s Governor John Bel Edwards announced a Stay-at-home Order to Louisiana residents. The Order calls for all residents to stay at home, only going out for essential needs, now extended until April 30, in efforts to prevent the Coronavirus from spreading even more throughout the state. Many other states have implemented similar orders.

It is very vital that we follow the orders to stay home because no one truly knows if they have the disease or not. It is essential to self-quarantine for two weeks in order to discern whether you develop symptoms associated with the disease.

I personally have longed for a break. There are many things that I have put off that need to get done. This period in time is allowing me time to rest and do many things that I’ve put off. It is my hope that you, too, see the blessing of this moment. What have you put off that can get done during this time? I challenge you to create a To-Do List and complete it. Once you complete your list, create another.

Editor’s Note: Thanks to all healthcare professionals who are working to help care for people during this extremely tough time. My sincere prayers go out to you all. May you all be covered with God’s blessed anointing every time you leave home.
