No Struggle, No Progress

Black Marriages Matter

In this year of our Lord, 2020, I journeyed on this thought that caught my attention and has compelled me to mention. We need a pattern of strong, healthy Black marriages. We stitch, we make, we build, and we paint. We take pride in what we make and to go as far as we can to use the finest materials money can buy. We get that "WOW" factor when people see what we create. A farmer will use pesticides to kill off bugs to protect his crops. A nation will go to war to protect its borders. The reason I write this is because of what is in my sight, which is the future of how our children should see how we form the tree. If they see and understand, the fruits of our labor can be so great.

I could use statistics to show how high divorce rates are for Black marriages, but my point is not to reinforce the negative. My point is when a man and woman find a compatible mate and say vows and I-dos, we must concentrate on not allowing a filthy worm to come in and destroy our growth. We must not go to war with each other but instead, get good council so we can lay down our weapons of mass destruction. We must concentrate on not putting on a bad show in front of others. We must never air out our dirty laundry or broadcast our personal business to anyone. Our reality should be to show the world how the people of God truly look. We should create a Next Top Model for humanity! This is only a thumbnail sketch, a little on the surface, but meant for readers to dig deeper and not fall asleep!
