No Struggle, No Progress
Author Rev. Bobby Joe Saucer, a resident of Decatur, Georgia, is a retired minister from The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board of the American Baptist Churches USA. This former Dean of the Morehouse School of Religion is considered a pioneer in the areas of theological educational program planning, design, implementation, and evaluation. Saucer has implemented numerous educational conferences, internships, and endowments including, a scholarship endowed fund at Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta. His numerous studies include gerontology at Brandeis University, and he holds degrees from Southern University, Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and Andover Newton Theological School. Author Rev. Bobby Joe Saucer had a book talk and signing of his book, "Shadows of Tall Oak Trees: Mentors Who Energized My Journey" on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Carver-McDonald Branch Library 2941 Renwick St. Monroe LA. The community turned out in large numbers to hear him speak of mentors that helped him along the way. It was also a moment in time as many old schoolers, classmates, family and friends relived times past that will never be relieved. Dr. Saucer was eloquent, humble and knowledgeable.
