Mayor Mayo Picks Up Endorsement from City Water Treatment Plant Union Members Our City, Our Future, Our Choice. As the Monroe Mayoral election date draws near, incumbent Democratic Mayor Jamie Mayo gains more momentum as he picks up an endorsement from the employees who are part of the Local 407 International Union of Operating Engineers. They are primarily employed at the City's water treatment plant. Tamala Bailey, Union Representative, says "We proudly support Mayor Mayo and his vision for the future. His ongoing commitment to improve the infrastructure of our water system show the commitment he has to securing clean and safe drinking water as our city continues to grow." Under the Mayo administration, the city of Monroe has enjoyed several historical accomplishments. These accomplishments range from sound fiscal management policies that have led to record breaking budget surpluses to advancements in infrastructure development and innovation. Mayor Mayo's focus for a new term would lead Monroe to even greater levels of achievement in economic development, public safety, quality of life, finances, housing & growth, infrastructure, marketing Monroe and beautification.
