No Struggle, No Progress

Brenda's Final Bow

Brenda Bernice English was born August 7, 1951, in Sterlington, Louisiana, to a loving mother, the late Elnora Sims Elliott. Brenda's faith and relationship with God were evident as she gave her life to the Lord at an early age and served full time in ministry. As a minister, she preached and sang to many. She was a faithful servant and member of Lone Wa Baptist Church and later Epignosis Worship Center. From there, she went on to serve at the Spiritual Harvest Worship Center in Monroe LA until she became ill. Throughout the years, Brenda was also a dedicated employee of Bancroft Bag, where she labored 28 years before her retirement. In her early years, she met and married the love of her life, Willie James English Sr. The two were married for 51 years of marriage and welcomed four sons, Derrick Dewayne English, Willie James English Jr., Andrea Lavell English, and Derrick Jackson English (first grandchild). She was known for her craftsmanship and beautiful artistic creations in which she developed a successful business, B&W Creations. Brenda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and many other things to so many. While she enjoyed traveling, playing basketball, cooking her famous dressing, and decorating, more than anything, she loved the Lord and her family so much and wanted them saved. Her love for God was evident in the way she lived, and this same love has caused many to trust in and live for God. Brenda went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2020. She was preceded in death by her mother Elnora Elliott, one sister, Jennie U. Rowland, three brothers James Long, Otha Sims, and Andre Elliott. She lives to cherish a devoted husband, Willie James English Sr.; four sons, Derrick Dewayne English, Willie James English Jr., Andrea Lavell English, and Derrick Jackson English; four brothers Roosevelt Long, Larry D. Elliot, Ronnie L. Elliot, and Randy Elliott; three sisters Sharon K. Cyrus, Glenda F.
