No Struggle, No Progress
I, John Allen IV, would like to express our sincere thanks to The City of Monroe, local churches, and surrounding areas for your Heartfelt Condolences and outpouring of" Love" and support to our family ( Dr. Allen's children)! We also thank St. Timothy Baptist Church Monroe LA Officers and Congregation under the leadership of Pastor Oscar Jenkins (who so diligently stood by our Dad)! Finally, we would like to express thanks to Shiloh, Hopewell, Union Baptist and New Lilly Baptist Churches. Cousin Benny Coleman, words are not enough to express the kindness and support given by you to our father! October 2016, after Dad fell and fractured his femur and was hospitalized in Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe LA, you were there. You, Cousin, were daily attending to his every need! In January 2017 he was discharged and returned to his home in Winnsboro LA for the continuing care of his "Faithful" children! 'Faithful" to the moment when he transitioned on Sunday morning, January 5, 2020. We thank God that his daughter (Beverly) and oldest son (Oliver) were by his side! Kudos to my siblings: Leola, Luvenia, Beverly, Christy, Oliver and Larry for a job well done! For we all did what God expected of us as well as what our parents and fore-parents instilled in us! Again, Thanks, Cousin Benny for the past three years. We truly appreciate you forsaking Sunday School each 2nd and 4th Sunday morning and driving down to Winnsboro to pick up our father for Church service. This is "True Devotion" to your Cousin, Pastor, and this family!! Pastor Oliver Billups, Pastor Jimmy Spears, Deaque Fields, Cedric Rollins and Pastor Van M. Brass, "Thanks"! Bishop Rodney McFarland, thanks so very much for, at the 11th hour printing the beautiful Home-going Celebration Programs! Only you, through God's Grace, Bishop McFarland could accomplish the great job that you are so well noted We truly appreciate you as well for the soul inspiring rendition of "When the Gates Swing Open"! For the gates of Heaven swung open on January 5, 2020! Our Dad doesn't have to wait any longer, as he has finally arrived home. Finally, we would like to acknowledge and thank everyone for all acts of kindness during the transition of our loved one. Each lovely card, comforting word, call, text, visit, meal, and heartfelt prayer mean more than words can ever express! Proudly, I am John Allen IV, namesake of Rev. Dr. John Allen III
