No Struggle, No Progress
Happy New Year! It started off with a bang. Our great S. U. Human Jukebox Marching Band participated in the Rose Bowl Parade on January 1st. It was a proud moment for Southern University. There were approximately 150 alumni from various parts of the country in attendance, including Monroe chapter president, Dilcie Green. The alumni were seated in a viewing section near the beginning of the parade and cheered and held up signs as the band passed by. While in California the band participated in several other events prior to the Rose Bowl Parade. They were: December 28, 2019 Human Jukebox Day of Hope; Field show, auditions, admission Southwest Community College; December 29, 2019 Juke Show Halftime performance at the NBA Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers Basketball Game; Jukebox At First African Methodist Episcopal Church Los Angeles CA and December 30, Bandfest Tournament of Roses Activities Los Angeles CA. Congratulations to all band members and staff for a job well done.
