No Struggle, No Progress
In life people face many challenges which can become overwhelming. Hearing and seeing all types of messages and images of bad and good influences the mind. Some have thoughts which can get the best of anyone at that inopportune moment. One life changing instant happened recently and according to police reports, a would-be robbery/suspect Shakkil J. Thompson walked into Circle K 1600 MLK Dr. in Monroe LA pointing a handgun demanding money, then immediately walked out the store without any money. Police were called, video footage was viewed. After viewing the clothing, the suspect had on, police made contact with the suspect on Sunset & S. 12th Streets which was close to the robbery location. The suspect dropped a backpack, while police recovered it with the robbery suspects clothing and a small handgun. During an interview with the suspect, he allegedly gave a statement about his whereabouts which were conflicting. A witness who lives close to the store saw the suspect 20 minutes before the robbery at his residence. Another witness a girlfriend, was shown pictures of clothing in the backpack and identifies some scrubs as hers. Also, the suspect had on the same red shoes which were in the backpack. The suspect's Facebook page had pictures of the same red shoes worn. The suspect is a convicted felon having served time for an aggravated battery with a firearm and had just been released in 2019. The question wondered is since he didn't rob the store should there be leniency? The suspect was arrested being charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story.
