No Struggle, No Progress

Argument/Stabbing

The holiday season may be over as 2020 has arrived, but it seems as though some 2019 habits still linger. People talk about change in a new year, perhaps not realizing that change is more about action than talk. In relationships between people whether it be a couple being together, or being friends/acquaintances with others, making a change can sometimes determine where one may end up. According to media and police reports, a West Monroe woman is behind bars for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend over an argument that no one seems to want to remember. According to law enforcement, 27-year-old Ronshe Willis got into an argument with an individual who was said to be her boyfriend, where there was contact between the two resulting in stab wounds to the victim's chest. Willis claimed that she was struck by the victim, leading her to retaliate by stabbing the victim with what police officers said was a pocketknife.

According to an unidentified witness who was at the scene, described to officers that Willis did stab the victim. The witness then said that he drove the victim away to another location. The victim said that he wasn't aware that he had been seriously stabbed enough until he saw that he was bleeding later. When questioned by police officers, Willis stated that she was trying to leave as she was struck by the victim, but she "didn't mean" to stab him. The suspect was charged with aggravated battery. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes another or the other side to this story.
