Remembering Hazelma Harris

In loving memory of our loving brother, father, and grandfather Hazelma Spencer Harris. On July 18, 1948 John Lee and Clotine Harris, gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, Hazelma Spencer Harris. He confessed Christ at an early age, uniting with the Little Bethany Baptist Church in Collingston, LA. Hazelma graduated from Richwood High School where he played basketball. Many years later he met and fell in love with Laura Burrell and to this union two children were born, a daughter, Betina Burrell and son, Barron Burrell, who preceded him in death. His parents John Lee and Clotine Harris, two brothers, Larry Harris and Eddie Dean, his grandparents Eddie and Elizabeth Spencer, Riley and Amelia Harris also preceded him in death. Hazelma departed his life on November 10, 2019 at Saint Francis Hospital. Hazelma is survived by two daughters Betina Burrell Canley (Russell) and Tammy Loche Bastrop, LA; sisters Jackie Harris (Eugene) Detroit MI, Gwendolyn Harris, Veronica Harris, Wynona Harris a Monroe LA and Debra Hines (Johnny) Denver CO; brothers Albert Harris and Johnnie Lee Harris North Carolina, Robert Harris Hartford CT, Jimmy Harris Dallas TX, Melvin Harris Monroe LA, and Danny and Tony Hicks Seattle WA; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a special friend, Dorothy Wilson; auntie Doris Ridgel (Malechi) of Springhill, LA; and a host of nieces, nephew, and other relatives, and friends. His funeral services are Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1 PM at Little Bethany Baptist Church in Collingston LA. Please pray hard for this family.
