The Earnestine Carraway Jackson "MY MOMMA WAS MY DADDY AWARD" is named in honor of THE PO' FOLK'S POET, Marion Obafemi's mother. This award is bestowed upon women that were single parents or caregivers for their children (and sometimes others) and raised them to be productive members of society despite the many challenges and hardships. As a token of appreciation for their efforts to positively impact the community, a banquet was held in their honor on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at The Benoit Community Center in Monroe LA.
