Faithful Servant Lula Pearl Gilbert

Sister Lula Pearl Gilbert, one of God’s servants received her wings, Monday, July 30, 2018. She was born January 16, 1928, to the union of the late King David Swazer and Laura Johnson Swazer in Wisner, Louisiana. She retired from the Ouachita Parish School System as a Food Service Technician.

Loving memories will be cherished by one daughter, Barbara G. Davis of Monroe, LA; three sons, Charles Gilbert, Dan Gilbert, Jr., both of Denver, CO, and Clarence Ray Gilbert of Monroe, LA; three sisters, Luetta Bourn, of Monroe, LA, Olivia Jackson, of Rialto, CA and Laura Howard of Aurora, CO; two brothers, Walter Swazer (Ethel) and Rev. Hardy Swazer (Barbara) both of Denver, CO; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church, 2601 Powell Street in Monroe, LA under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Monroe, LA. Visitation is Friday, August 10, 1:00 - 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
