No Struggle, No Progress

I'll Pop Both of You

Some find it difficult understanding the difference in real and play. Being an adult, many don't accept play or take it seriously. One rule which should always be followed is never play with adults. Play is for children of a certain age. According to police reports, deputies were summoned to a disturbance on Lincoln Rd. where a victim told deputies her daughter was outside their front door at home with friends when she heard lots of screaming and hollering. The victim came to the front door and witnessed Suspect Zachary D. Gaines hitting her daughter in the arm. The victim stepped between her daughter and Gaines for her daughter's protection. The victim told deputies she was struck on her arms numerous times. Gaines then pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed directly at them allegedly saying, that he'd pop both of you, then left the residence in a burgundy 4-door vehicle.

Deputies contacted Gaines on Desiard St. at a traffic stop, advised him of his Miranda Rights, and secured him in handcuffs. Police found a 9mm Glock pistol, marijuana, and one magazine containing three Winchester rounds in a backpack on the back seat of the vehicle. He was charged with simple battery, cruelty to juveniles, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal weapons carry, and possession of CDS 1 first offense. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes another or the other side to this story.
