POST-SEASON EDITION Thurs. & Fri. NOV. 10-11 As the regular season has ended, the second season for our area teams will begin thursday night when the 1st round of the LHSAA playoffs kickoff. The easy thing for area fans to do is to pick the team with the better seeding and go from there, but after years of prognosticating there's never a sure-fire way to predict the outcomes this time of the year. I've filled out my brackets for each classification and there are some usual suspects that i...
It's do or die this final week of the LHSAA regular season and several teams still have work to do to improve their post-season positioning. Some teams are on the bubble, while some are at the top. However, the case, all of the area teams will embrace a much-needed win this week even teams that won't be dancing in the playoffs. Week 10 also features a couple of games that will decide district championships. In district 1-1A, Cedar Creek will attempt to stay undefeated while also capturing the...
final two weeks of the season and some highly anticipated games are set to take place. After a week 7 slate of games that featured some big-time blowouts and not many surprises, week 9 is sure to tilt the scales in favor of some epic battles. The regular season is 3 weeks away from being over and many of our area teams are sitting in prime position for post-season berths, but for several other local teams there's still some work to do. Some teams are making a push for top seeds while others are just trying to conceive home games in round 1. The teams on the outside looking in also aim for strong finishes down the stretch to become playoff spoilers. District 2-4A begins district play this week with all 4 of its teams currently project...
Another successful week is in the books as I went an impressive 11-4 overall and 3-0 in featured games, but with district rivalries, long-distance road trips and daunting road games I wouldn't expect things to go this week as well. Richwood battles cross-town rival, Carroll at the Dog Pound, while Neville hits the road to south Louisiana to take on Franklinton and #2 Sterlington will have its hands full again as they visit Wossman and their intense homecoming crowd. Don't be afraid to go with a... Full story
