  • Stabbing Dispute

    Eddie D. Gillis|Aug 22, 2024

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. When a dispute occurs between two individuals, and there is no possible resolution in sight, the best thing we are told to do is walk away. A dispute can be for any reason, but violence is not the solution to solve it. Usually someone pays a bigger price for their actions. A local woman is behind bars from being in a dispute where violence was allegedly involved. According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies...

  • $11,000 Victim

    Eddie D. Gillis|Aug 22, 2024

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Trust is a real issue in the world we live in. Your word used to be your bond, but now it often needs to be written down or paid up front. It's increasingly difficult to trust people these days. The elderly are often preyed upon by those who seek to take advantage of them, especially if they are financially independent. Some elderly individuals trust those they believe will keep their best interests at heart. However, there are...

  • Something Big is "at the Door"

    Katima Epting-Wiley|Aug 22, 2024

There comes a time when we must hear and adhere. That time is now. God is speaking. Are we listening? Earthquakes, fires, outages, breaches, floods, diseases, wars, and more are all around us; yet, much of the Church remains comfortable. Can't we see that something big is at the door? Many are content with poor prayer lives, inadequate Bible study, weak morals, and complacent mindsets. As long as some can dress up and walk through the church doors, they feel fine—even if they praise God with the...

  • What Makes a Good Dance Partner

    Jessica DeTiege|Aug 22, 2024

A while back, I tried ballroom dance to break up the monotony of my dance training. It was such a wonderful experience because I learned a lot about how dance can parallel life, particularly relationships. Just as in dance, where two people must learn to synchronize their movements, in life and relationships, it is about finding that delicate balance between leading and following, giving and receiving, supporting and being supported with grace. In dance, a good partner is more than just someone who can move to the beat; they are a blend of skil...

  • Hope & Inspiration

    Aug 22, 2024

One is tested the most when it's time to elevate. Though you may have to bend, don't break—it's far too soon to quit! This isn’t just about position or prosperity. When others ask, "What must I do to be saved?" they see the love of Christ in you. So, count it all joy, my brethren, when you face various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be complete, lacking nothing, as you continue to grow. Remember, God loves you! Rev. Elbert Taylor...

  • The End Is Near

    Aug 22, 2024

The Lord Is My Shepherd. I shall not want (Psalm 23:1) The shepherd protects the sheep from All evil. Sheep are the most defenseless of all animals. Sheep have no way to protect themselves. Jesus sent his Disciples out as sheep among wolves, he gave them power over unclean spirits; to cast them out, to heal all manner of sickness, and diseases (Luke 10:3). The enemy comes to take peace from the earth, when Jesus was born the Angels declared " Peace on Earth " Good Will To Man. The enemy had come to take Man's peace through sickness, disease,...

  • Loose Tongue Will Sink Trump

    Eddie D. Gillis|Aug 22, 2024

Donald Trump is an individual who marches to the beat of his own drum, even if it is just in his head. He is a "my way or the highway" kind of person who is always telling himself that his way is the best way. Even as his presidential campaign is stuck in neutral. If one listens to him at one of his rallies he is up bigly in the polls, he is drawing ten times the crowds that Vice President Kamala Harris has and he is going to make America great again. Never mind that he doesn't say how he will make America great again, but if one keeps playing...
