  • Just Wondering

    Apr 25, 2024

Time seems to be rewinding at an unbelievable pace, a reality that some recognize while many remain unaware of, especially among the Black community and the economically disadvantaged. Today, slavery persists in different forms such as lack of access to education, high rates of...

  • It's Time Monroe Louisiana

    Katima Epting Wiley|Apr 25, 2024

God has been so merciful. He has blessed in spite of, kept in spite of and comforted in spite of. He's so faithful, so loving and so kind, but how long do you think God will continue to put up with the wickedness in the midst of that land? From the misinformation of truth, to the discord amongst leadership, to the senseless bloodshed of those who should still be amongst the living- God has seen it all. He is no longer winking (overlooking things). We can pay an enormous price when we ignore God’s voice. It’s time to work together. It’s time...

  • Johnson's Place In History

    Eddie D. Gillis|Apr 25, 2024

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-LA has an opportunity to change how historians will write about him in history. Johnson just had the opportunity to do what past House Speakers like John Boehner, Paul Ryan and even Kevin McCarthy couldn't do, that is stand in the face of those far-right-over-the-cliff Republicans who will always keep "party first" in their ideology. Make no mistake about it, Johnson is as conservative as they come, but even he knows that once you take the plunge over the cliff, there is no coming back. Over the weekend, Johnson...

The Carroll mystique was set long ago and remains in the hearts of those who witnessed its glory then and now. This is why we still sing praises to Carroll High School. One individual who...

The book focuses on the science of habits and how tiny changes can lead to remarkable results over time. If you train your children, they will give you peace and they will bring you delight. O God make us children of quietness and heirs of peace. Well Bless God! Superintendent. Henry Davison...
